Product Detailed Description

The 9907-175 acts as the “intelligence” between a generator and the engine’s speed governor. It monitors the three-phase power output and adjusts the engine speed to ensure that when multiple generators are running in parallel, the proportional load is distributed evenly across all units. It essentially translates the load sharing signals from Woodward components into a format the Caterpillar governor understands.

  • Independent Overspeed Protection: CRITICAL. This module is not a safety shutdown device. The engine must be equipped with a totally independent overspeed shutdown system to prevent “runaway” conditions.
  • ESD Awareness: The module contains sensitive electronic components. Always discharge static electricity and avoid synthetic clothing (like polyester) when handling the unit to prevent Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) damage.
  • Wiring Separation: Keep PT (Potential Transformer) and CT (Current Transformer) wiring physically separated from low-voltage DC control wiring to prevent signal noise and interference.
  • Potential Transformer (PT) Selection: Ensure the PT secondary voltage matches the module’s jumper settings (120V vs 240V) before applying power.
