- Requires Thermal Overload Protection: Because the JXD63H400 is a magnetic-only breaker, it does not provide thermal overload protection on its own. It must be paired with an appropriate motor starter equipped with thermal/electronic overload relays to meet National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements.
- Lugs Sold Separately: Standard units generally ship without terminal lugs installed. Verify whether lug kits (e.g., TA2J6500) are required for your wire size during installation.
- LCC/MCC Coordination: Always perform a coordination study before adjusting the magnetic trip dial to ensure proper selective coordination with upstream breakers.
- Migration Note: For new installations or legacy upgrades, Siemens recommends considering the newer 3VA Series equivalents (such as the 3VA63 series) depending on plant requirements.
