It connects to either an IM 360 transmitter module (located in the Central Rack) or a preceding IM 361 module in a daisy-chain arrangement via dedicated 368-series connecting cables. In addition to transmitting backplane bus communication signals, the IM 361 provides a localized 24 V DC power supply connection to feed 5 V DC power to the backplane bus of its expansion rack.
