The 16-channel Analog Input Terminal Base is a rugged, passive backplane designed to mount directly onto a standard DIN rail. Its primary function is to route 16 individual field signals into the active electronic I/O card. It contains the heavy-duty screw terminals for field wiring, fuse protection, and the multi-pin connector sockets where the electronic modules reside.

These terminal bases are available in Non-Redundant (holding one I/O module) and Redundant (holding two I/O modules in a hot-standby configuration) form factors.
