The RCMA423-D-2 continuous monitoring device works alongside an external measuring current transformer (such as the CTUB or W… series). Equipped with a digital liquid crystal display (LCD) and multi-functional push buttons, it provides real-time readout of measured residual currents and allows parameterization directly on the device. Important Considerations & Precautions

  • Requires External Measuring Transformer: The RCMA423-D-2 is an evaluation unit and must be paired with an appropriate measuring current transformer (e.g., Bender W… or CTUB series) to route the system conductors through.
  • Proper Cable Routing: All phase conductors and the neutral conductor (L1, L2, L3, N) must pass through the transformer core together. The Protective Earth (PE) conductor must never pass through the core.
  • Not an RCD (Residual Current Device): This unit is a residual current monitor designed to signal or trigger external switchgear; it does not contain integrated primary power contact breakers to clear high-power faults on its own.
  • Terminal Wiring Integrity: Double-check connections for the auxiliary power (A1/A2) and external CT inputs (k/l) before energizing to prevent internal sensor damage.
