Product Detailed Description

The ISO685-D belongs to the flagship ISOMETER® generation from BENDER. It uses the patented AMP Plus (Adaptive Measuring Pulse) measurement method, allowing it to accurately monitor systems even in the presence of modern power electronics, such as variable frequency drives (VFDs), inverters, and high leakage capacitances.

The “-D” variant features an integrated high-resolution graphical LC display and a user-friendly clear-text interface for immediate localized status monitoring and configuration.

Important Considerations (Precautions)

  • Single IT System Connection: Only one insulation monitoring device may be connected to the same interconnected IT system. Connecting multiple units simultaneously will lead to measurement interference and false readings.
  • High Voltage Testing (Megger): Before performing any high-voltage insulation tests on the power grid, the ISO685-D must be completely disconnected from the system to prevent permanent damage to its measuring inputs.
  • Coupling Modules: For system voltages exceeding AC 690V or DC 1000V, a dedicated external coupling module (such as the AGH series) must be used.
  • Grounding Connection: Ensure the connection to the functional earth (FE) and protective earth (PE) is secure and low-impedance; a faulty ground path invalidates the measurement readings.
