Product Detailed Description

The IR425-D4-2 is part of the ISOMETER® family. In an IT (Isolated Terra) system, the first insulation fault does not trip a circuit breaker, allowing the process to continue. This device monitors that first fault, measuring the insulation resistance (R_F) and comparing it against two independently adjustable response values (Alarm 1 and Alarm 2). It features a digital display for local monitoring and relay outputs for remote signaling.

Important Considerations (Precautions)

• IT Systems Only: This device is strictly for unearthed (IT) systems. Do not use it in TN (grounded neutral) or TT systems, as it will signal a continuous fault.
• Only One IMD: In any galvanically connected IT system, only one insulation monitoring device may be connected. Multiple IMDs will interfere with each other’s measuring pulses.
• Voltage Limits: Ensure the system voltage does not exceed 300V AC/DC. For higher voltages, an external coupling device (like the AGH series) may be required.
• Wiring Check: Ensure the connection to terminal E (Earth) and KE (Functional Earth) are separate for the wire-break monitoring feature to function correctly.
