The Bender CTAC60 is a highly sensitive, circular measuring current transformer (CT) from the LINETRAXX® series. It is specifically designed to work with Bender’s residual current monitors (RCM/RCMS) and insulation fault location systems (EDS) to detect AC and pulsed DC fault currents.

The CTAC60 serves as the “sensing eye” for monitoring systems. It converts small residual or fault currents flowing through the primary conductors into an evaluable measurement signal for a connected evaluator. Its large 60 mm internal diameter allows it to accommodate multiple large-gauge power cables or busbars, making it suitable for high-power distribution circuits.

Important Considerations (Precautions)
- Conductor Routing: All current-carrying conductors (L1, L2, L3, and N) must be routed through the CT. The Protective Earth (PE) conductor must never pass through the CT.
- Cable Centering: For maximum accuracy and to prevent nuisance tripping, cables should be centered within the CT opening.
- Shielding: Do not route shielded cables through the CT. If a shield must pass through, it must be pulled back and grounded outside the CT.
- Bending Radius: Observe the minimum bending radius of the primary conductors. They should not be bent sharply immediately before or after the CT.
- Wiring Distance: Use twisted-pair or shielded cabling for the connection to the monitor if the distance exceeds 1 meter to prevent electromagnetic interference.
