The AutomationDirect D2-08ND3 is an 8-point DC sink/source input module belonging to the DirectLOGIC 205 (DL205) micro-modular PLC system. It converts external 12–24 V DC discrete field signals from devices such as limit switches, sensors, and selector switches into internal logic-level signals processed by the DL205 CPU or Ethernet Remote Master unit.

Featuring flexible common wiring, each input channel can be independently configured as either sinking or sourcing to accommodate various field devices.

• External Power Supply Requirement: The module relies on an external 12–24 V DC field power supply to drive input currents; it does not supply loop power from the PLC base.
• Response Time Considerations: The fixed 8 ms response delay makes this module suitable for general discrete automation, but not for high-speed counter applications or high-frequency pulse detection (use a dedicated High-Speed Counter module for fast pulses).
• Wiring Safety: Always turn off field supply power before removing or attaching the removable terminal block to avoid accidental short circuits.
