The 1762-OB16 is a “Sourcing” digital output module featuring 16 points. As a sourcing module, it provides a positive voltage (24V DC) to the connected load when an output is energized. - Inductive Loads: When driving inductive loads (like motor starters or large solenoids), it is highly recommended to use external surge suppressors (diodes) to protect the module’s transistors from “flyback” voltage spikes.
- Power Supply: The module requires an external 24V DC power source for the field-side outputs. This should be a clean, regulated industrial power supply.
