The 1734-TOP is a one-piece terminal base with 12-point screw-clamp terminations. Unlike the multi-piece 1734-TB versions, the “TOP” designation refers to the integrated design where the terminal block and the base are a single unit. it is designed to snap onto a DIN rail and provide the backplane connection (PointBus) for a single POINT I/O module.

  • Torque Settings: Tighten the screw terminals to the manufacturer-specified torque (0.6 Nm or 7 lb-in). Over-tightening can strip the threads, while under-tightening can lead to high-resistance connections and overheating.
  • Keying: Each base has a mechanical keying switch. Ensure the key position matches the requirements of the module you are installing (e.g., Position 1 for AC modules, Position 4 for DC modules) to prevent inserting the wrong module type.
  • Power Limits: Do not exceed the 10 A total current limit across the base. If your I/O modules require high power, you may need to insert a 1734-EP24DC expansion power supply module in the rack.
