When a contactor coil is de-energized, the collapsing magnetic field generates a high-voltage spike (back-EMF). The 100-FSD250 is a Diode-style surge suppressor that clamps these spikes, preventing electromagnetic interference (EMI) and protecting PLC outputs or relay contacts that drive the contactor.
