The DI820 is an AC/DC digital input module featuring 8 individually isolated channels. It is used to monitor the status of field devices such as pushbuttons, limit switches, selector switches, and relay contacts. Because each channel is galvanically isolated from the others and from the system logic, it offers exceptional noise immunity and allows the connection of signals from different voltage sources or phases onto a single module.

- Fusing: Although the module is robust, external fuses are highly recommended on each input loop to protect the module and field cables against short-circuit faults.
- Heat Dissipation: When mounting multiple high-voltage modules close together, ensure cabinet ventilation is adequate to prevent localized overheating.
